2013'S NEWEST BEAUTY TRENDS

I know...I still love Sex and the City since it's debut on HBO during the run of 1998-2004 the original show had a run of ninety-four episodes. Now why do I think of this as the go to BEAUTY & TRENDS still after so long? No Clue: Maybe because it was a six year part of my life that I still love looking back on with the warm fuzzy's & Cosmopolitan in hand. I just remember loving that it was filmed in New York City and that it followed the lives of a group of four women. Three of them being in there thirties and one in her forties. They shared what every woman in a friendship love to talk about: Relationships, Sex, Fashion  & Good Old Girl Gossip! Now I have to be honest here...Since I have seen all of the original shows and both movies: Sex and the City 2008 & Sex and the City 2~2010...I am planning on watching the Prequel on The CW: The Carrie Diaries. I just have to take a gander to see where they are going with this. Now getting back to 2013's Newest Beauty Trends With a brand New Year comes a clean slate.
  1. Bold Browns Spring/Summer 2013 boasted a tempting array of bold browns in every shade.
  2. Ballerina Buns You don't have to be someone who spends her day en pointe to sport the latest version of the iconic ballerina bun.
  3. Power Lips All eyes were on bright, colorful lips at the Spring/Summer 2013 shows.
  4. Glitter & Glam The glittery look works all year round, not just during the holiday season.
  5. Luxe Lashes Lashes are back and bigger than ever-Literally!
  6. Mod Squad The swinging sixties roared back to life on the catwalk. Lush, broad brows, long lashes and eye shadows in white and gray. Of course, no sixties look would be complete without big, teased hair and a deep side part.
  7. Ponytails Cool takes on the ponytail, making this simple standby hairstyle work seamlessly with everyday styles.

CINNAMON

Since having to cut out my Coffee***Hello Old Lover*** & Tea was more of a past time affair...I have learned to enjoy Cinnamon in my warm water...Yes! I take my Cinnamon Mug as I call it now and warm up my water and sprinkle in Cinnamon.. This helps me enjoy the mornings still! I know...not the real thing yet here are the Eleven Reasons why you might take this up yourself:

Once upon a time, Cinnamon was more valuable than gold. And while these days I'm betting most of us would rather get our hands on 24 karats over 24 ounces - a bar over a stick - this bark-cum-spice has just as much bite as it does bark. The potential health benefits attributable to cinnamon could be stated as nothing short of astonishing.
It's possible we're just brushing the surface here, for Chinese medicine and Ayurveda have long revered cinnamon as a superpower used to treat things such as colds, indigestion and cramps and also believed to improve energy, vitality and circulation. The following are eleven health benefits associated with this beloved spice that studies have suggested:
  1. 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon per day can lower your bad cholesterol (or LDL).
  2. Cinnamon may help treat Type 2 Diabetes by lowering blood sugar levels and increasing the amount of insulin production in the body.
  3. Cinnamon has antifungal properties, and it's been said that candida cannot live in a cinnamon environment.
  4. Cinnamon can reduce the proliferation of leukemia and lymphoma cancer cells.
  5. Cinnamon has an anti-clotting effect on the blood.
  6. Honey and Cinnamon combined has been found to relieve arthritis pain.
  7. When added to food, cinnamon inhibits bacterial growth and food spoilage, making it a natural food preservative.
  8. Just smelling cinnamon boosts cognitive function and memory.
  9. Cinnamon fights the E. coli bacteria in unpasteurized juices.
  10. Cinnamon has been found to be an effective natural remedy for eliminating headaches and migraine relief
  11. Cinnamon can also help stablize blood sugar (which is great for weight loss). A couple of dashes in your morning tea or cereal is all it takes!
Now, this said, we are absolutely not advocating you start guzzling the cinnamon - as it has been found to be toxic in large doses. We are, however, wholeheartedly encouraging a little pinch (or stick) here and there in places you might otherwise have overlooked (in your tea or coffee, added to savory dishes, etc.) - if not for your overall health, for its undeniably enchanting aroma and flavor. And while we have all fell victim to the irresistible smells wafting through an otherwise bleak airport experience, this does not make Cinnabon a free for all. We're just saying...

How are you going to Celebrate New Year's Eve?

We can't wait to toast the New Year. How will you be celebrating? With New Year's Eve being only one day away, you may be getting ready to pop bottles of sparkling bubbles/champagne. We have a couple of bottles already being chilled: BOLLINGER Special Cuvee & Extra Cuvee De Reserve POL ROGER 2000 Vintage Brut....
New Year's Traditions: The most commonly sung song Auld Lang Syne. Literally translates as "old long since" and means "times gone by." Did you know that this song is asking whether old friends and times will be forgotten and promises to remember people of the past with fondness?

To Do: Live A Little & Let IT Go!

I don't like anything that's too confining. I'm sort of a control freak, so anything that makes me feel like I'm out of control is a bit uncomfortable. I know SHOCKER....Cue: Everyone agreeing with the last two sentences! But you know how it is, sometimes it is good to "Live A Little" The funny thing about this  in order to do this it is important to: "Let IT Go"...What is It? All the things that hold you back. Eckhart Tolle believes we create and maintain problems because they give us a sense of identity. How twisted is this? Very...and if we are all honest about this we have all done this at some point in our lives. Do you suppose this is why we hold onto our pain far beyond its ability to help us. "If you let go a little, you will have a little peace. If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of peace"  I am learning there will never be a time when life is simple. I am learning to embrace my flaws and see them as learning tools to a better me. Every moment is a chance to let go and feel peaceful. Blessings XO
